	Zenkaya Studio is a 20.4sq.m unit that is 3.4m x 6m and has a living/sleeping room, kitchenette, bathroom, and a closet.
	Zenkaya Loft is a 40.8sq.m unit that is 3.4m x 12m and has a deck, living/sleeping room, dining space, kitchenette, bathroom, and a closet.
	Zenkaya One Bedroom is a 53sq.m unit that is 3.4m x 15.6m and has a deck, living room, dining space, kitchenette, bathroom, 1 bedroom and a closet.

Concept

Why ZenKaya?

Zenkaya design recognized a need for quality, well designed prefabricated living / working space.

Zenkaya is for the people who think differently. Those who value their time and don’t want to spend the unforeseen time (opportunity cost loss) and energy to control and manage the construction and design process, especially when it is a far away place.

ZenKaya is a prefabricated structure made in a factory and therefore we won’t invade your existing space, providing secure and trouble free solutions at affordable prices.

Where does the name ZenKaya come from?

ZenKaya name is born out of a name play. Zen because it is a trouble free experience and Kaya means home in vernacular South African language, where the concept was first sketched.

Who is behind it?

Zenkaya design is an international Design Company Specializing in Prefabricated structures. Eric Bigot was the Designer for ZenKaya. Trained as an Architect in France, he has lived in New York, Japan and several parts of Africa. His interest for prefabricated was born out in New York and Japan where construction method are much more rationalized and cost effective.

Because it is like a car you don’t have to deal with the lengthy process of design yet you can personalize it. When you have decided which model you want and the options you want, you will have done most of the process and still have a unique product.

Because it is made in a factory we can control all the materials, the quality and therefore the cost. Not to mention the reliability of the process of a one stop shop versus the many contractors you will have to deal with in a traditional situation. We can build year round without having to stop because of the rain.

We use quality materials only with the customer in mind so we try to be maintenance free as much as we can.

ZenKaya doesn’t only bring you design and status but most of all, Peace of mind. You won’t have to deal with workers running around your stand for an undetermined amount of time putting your security at risk.

The Shell

What is included in the shell?

Zenkaya is a ready made structure all inclusive which we named spec model. Then you should refer to Options/Add On for upgrades to fit your needs.

Is ZenKaya designed to comply with local building codes?

Zenkaya follows several building codes but you are responsible to find out if your local authorities will approve such structure. Again find out from you local authorities what are the necessary plans, as every Council is different.

Are the walls insulated?

Yes, we provide two (2) types of wall.

Option 1 is a highly (ISP) Insulated Structural Panel which comprise a 75mm polystyrene panel sandwich between 2 layers of 0.5mm white Chromadek.
Option 2 is a wood frame O.C 400mm with 50mm Aerolite and 0.5 mm Chromadek on the outside and 9mm OSB Board on the inside.

Is ZenKaya green?

Zenkaya design was based on core sustainable principles. To start with, well proportioned rooms, efficient use of spaces and standard sizes materials were identified and drawn. By building ZenKaya in a factory we are also able to reduce waste.

All materials employed can be recycled when necessary.

What are the Finishes we have to select?

Zenkaya comes in a Standard fully finishes product but some people prefer different finishes or Sanitary ware which implies higher cost due to the uniqueness and small quantity. You can select your floor finishes, Sanitary ware, Kitchen elements(Contact us for your personal needs). Some choices might delay the delivery period.

Sizes

What is the Smallest Living Unit size?

The basic module is ZenKaya STUDIO type which has a bathroom, and a living / sleeping space. An optional kitchenette can be fitted.

The size of the STUDIO is 3.40 m wide by 6 m long.

What are the different living unit / sizes available?

ZenKaya STUDIO comes in 3.40 X 6.0 m.
ZenKaya LOFT Original comes in 3.40 X 12m. It comprises a bathroom, a kitchenette, a dining space, a living sleeping area and a covered deck.
ZenKaya 1 BEDROOM comes in 3.40 X 15.4 m. It comprises a bedroom, a bathroom, a kitchenette dining area, a living space and a deck.
ZenKaya 2 BEDROOM comes in 3.40 x 18 m. It comprises 2 bedrooms, a bathroom, a Kitchenette, a living space, dining space and a covered deck.

Can we change the design?

ZenKaya is based on a very identifiable design. A way of life we believe in. We have other designs available but if you like we can design anything for you. Just give us your budget and what you want and we will let you know what we can do.

Can I have a wider Unit?

3.40 m is a good size. The involved cost for a wider unit doesn’t make it cost effective and remember that all roads are not created equal. So we recommend that if you want something wider you use double modules. Please contact us for more information.

Can I have a longer unit?

Yes you can. We make units up to 18 m long or you can purchase a One bedroom Unit + a Studio.

What are the Options available?

You can basically select all the finishes you want. We are also looking at sustainable solution and of the grid solutions. Please contact us for more information.

Ordering

How can I finance my ZENKAYA Unit?

We will reply soon. We hope to be able to partner with an institution to provide a bond for theses units.

What do I have to do to Order a ZENKAYA Unit?

Basically you will need to tell us your needs, your budget, your considerations.

How do I Pay?

We accept 50 percent for ordering. Then a 50 percent balance before delivery.

How long does it take?

Depending on the size, the customization level and how we are busy, we can deliver your unit between 5 to 12 weeks.

Delivery

How is delivered the Living unit?

The living unit comes completely assembled. We take the words Home delivery Literally. What you will need to do is basically connect to electricity, water and sewage.

Where can you deliver ZenKaya?

We can deliver Zenkaya anywhere you want, were accessibility by road by a flat bed truck permits. Keep in mind the extra transport cost is often worth your peace of mind and unforeseen troubles.

How much does it cost for delivery?

Delivery cost depends on the distance from the Factory. Please contact us for specifics.

Would I need a crane?

It depends. If your site is flat and the position of the units allow passage for the truck then the truck will offload it without the need of a crane. Otherwise you will need to organize for a crane service should site specification requires it. Please let us know the specifics of your stand (Access, Gate, Orientation, Stability…).

The small print

Zenkaya reserve the right to alter the specification, sizes, materials, fittings etc at any time without prior notice as circumstances may dictate. Images shown in this brochure include items of furniture and general props which are for illustration purposes only. Furniture Packs are available as Optional Extras. In order for Zenkaya home to be used, it needs to be sited correctly, fitted with steps or means of access and connected to services by professionally qualified staff. A manufacturers warranty is available on all sales. Please ask for details. The warranty is in addition to and does not affect your statutory rights. For the manufacturers warranty to remain valid, Zenkaya must be sited correctly. This brochure does not form part of any contract.

Prices are ex-works and do not include delivery / transport to site, commissioning or any on site charges. Always check with your local planning authority or take professional advice with regard to whether or not you may site Zenkaya on any land.
